Sharing Holiday Cheer with Foster and Homeless Children
Foster and homeless children often struggle with loneliness and isolation – challenges that 2020 has intensified. A kind gesture such as a holiday card goes a long way in warming their hearts and making them smile.
Gavel International is celebrating the holiday season by ensuring that children living in group facilities receive much-needed cheer. On December 16, 2020, Gavel International donated efforts to Fill a Heart 4 Kids by participating in Project PenPal. During this virtual holiday event, Gavel employees were encouraged to make colorful, merry holiday cards. These cards will be printed by Fill a Heart 4 kids to show children in group facilities that Gavel International cares.
For others who are interested in participating in Project PenPal, it’s a wonderful way to make a difference in the life of a child. Simply make greeting cards that are fun, festive, and convey a positive message. Once the cards are finished, email the cards to info@fillaheartforkids.org or tag Fill a Heart 4 Kids on Facebook and Instagram.
Making Spirits Bright for Children in Need
With the economic challenges of 2020, more families need help and children need hope. Over the last 18 years, Gavel International has served as a corporate sponsor for Toys for Tots, which is run by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. In 2020, Gavel International continued this legacy of bringing joy to less fortunate children by making a monetary donation to the non-profit organization.
