In the state of Illinois, over a million people face hunger, and one-third of them are children.* Food pantries are essential to filling the gap between meals and hunger.
The St. Joseph Food Pantry serves all residents in Lake County who are in need of food. In fact, a household going through difficult times may use the food pantry once every seven days. This demand rises each year and is expected to increase as winter approaches and inflation causes prices to rise.
From November 4th-18th, Gavel International employees generously brought in two carts of much-needed non-perishable food items and made a monetary contribution. These donations were delivered to St. Joseph Food Pantry on November 21, just in time for Thanksgiving.
During this season of giving, bellies and spirits should be equally filled! We would like to thank those who warmly gave hope to make a difference to those who need it most.
